If it is required, that your document stand good in law in territory of other state in most cases it is necessary to carry out procedure of its legalization. Documentation legalization is an establishment, acknowledgment and acknowledgement of authenticity of the seals and signatures of officials available on the document and their conformity to requirements of the law of country of origin.

Notarial certification of the translated document is the official document meeting all the corresponding requirements. Notarial translation means that the notary establishes the person of the translator and its professional powers confirmed with documents on specialized education, and on this basis assures the signature of the translator. Thus, the translator the signature guarantees that translating is identical to the original document, and the notary confirms authenticity of this signature and qualification of the specialist

Apostille is a special sign (stamp) which according to «the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement for Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents, from October, 5th, 1961» is put down on the official documents which have been given out in one country-participant of the Convention for their transfer to other country-participant of the Convention. The apostille "certify the authenticity of the signature, the capacity in which the person signing the document has acted and, where appropriate, the identity of the seal or stamp which the document bears" (article 5 of the Convention).
The Convention shall apply to following public documents: a) documents emanating from an authority or an official connected with the courts or tribunals of the State, including those emanating from a public prosecutor, a clerk of a court or a process-server ("huissier de justice"); b) administrative documents; c) notarial acts; d) official certificates which are placed on documents signed by persons in their private capacity, such as official certificates recording the registration of a document or the fact that it was in existence on a certain date and official and notarial authentications of signatures.
The Convention shall not apply: a) to documents executed by diplomatic or consular agents; b) to administrative documents dealing directly with commercial or customs operations.
In the Russian Federation the official body, authorized on set an apostille is the Ministry of Justice in all cases "except for originals of the documents issued in the area of bodies of internal affairs, prosecutor's office and state archives the apostille on which is set by establishments of the specified departments" (the Letter of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation from 8/7/1992 N 7-2/99).
